The spirit of baseball is alive and well in Portland, Oregon despite not having a major league team of it's own.
Welcome the Portland Grays!
The resurrection of the Grays would pay homage to the Homestead Grays and talented players of the Negro Leagues. The Grays almost became an MLB team when the Montreal Expos moved to Washington DC, but that team ended up becoming the Washington Nationals.
While the Grays made their home in Pittsburgh, PA, Portland has many similarities that would make it an appropriate home: gray, rainy skies, rivers, lot's of bridges and a blue collar, working class history.
